Are you interested in a career as a PMU?

Microblading and Powder Brows training are often the first steps in starting your career in permanent cosmetics. As a brow artist, you’ll help give clients the best possible brows without the daily upkeep. The demand for semi-permanent eyebrow treatments is huge right now. After all, who wants to wake up 30 minutes earlier to put on brows?
But what does it take to become a Microblading or Powder Brow specialist, and which PMU classes are required? Read on to learn how you can jumpstart a lucrative, fulfilling career as a brow artist.

Choosing PMU Classes

It’s important to remember every client is unique. Some clients may seek brow services to help make sparse eyebrows look fuller or counter eyebrow thinning, while others may simply be tired of having to shape their arches with makeup every day.
As the artist, it’s essential to have the skillset to fill in the desired eyebrow shape and density for clients to feel their best. Consider learning various brow techniques to create personalized, world-class eyebrows for your clients.
Two of the most popular PMU classes for brows are Microblading and Ombre Powder Brows training. Learn the difference between each training season.
Microblading classes will teach you how to create realistic-looking hair strokes in the brow line using a handheld tool. Microblading is often the preferred method for clients with dryer skin and hopes to achieve natural-looking results.

This 3-day Microblading training course will give you the knowledge and practical skills to become a Microblading artist. Learn about all the tools, safety precautions, and techniques to craft the perfect brows.

Powder Brows help give a more ombre look instead of individual hair strokes, resembling a soft makeup look. Power Brows usually work better for clients with oily skin and want a realistic and natural-looking outcome.

This 2-day Powder Brow training course will give you the knowledge and practical skills to become a Powder Brow artist. Classes are centered around creating the perfect shapes, shading techniques, safety practices, and becoming comfortable with the tools.

Whether or not you should receive training in various techniques depends on the type of brow artist you hope to be. Remember that the more services you can provide, the more potential clients you’ll get. For example, one client may want Microblading while another may be more interested in Powder Brows. Offering both services means you can be more flexible with the services you offer.
Another thing to consider is expanding your skill sets in other areas, like lash extensions or other in-demand brow techniques such as nano brows.

Becoming a beauty artist isn’t just an opportunity to earn money. It’s a trade that genuinely helps people feel better about themselves. The beauty of semi-permanent makeup like Microblading or Powder Brows is that they focus on enhancing the client’s natural looks.
There are plenty of other perks too. Here’s a look at a few of the benefits of becoming a PMU artist.

  • Job Stability – A reputable Microblading Training establishment will teach you how to perfect your craft and help you become self-sufficient. Microblading artists can earn $2,000 a week or more with the proper training and dedication.
  • Freedom – Depending on the salon where you practice, you can set your brow appointments around your schedule. You’ll have more flexibility and freedom than you would with other professions.
  • Confidence – Helping other people feel their best is often a gift worth more than you might think. Making slight changes to someone’s appearance can significantly increase their self-confidence!
The sky’s the limit when it comes to permanent makeup. The most important thing to launch your career is the right training. Of course, practice, trust, and reputation are paramount in the permanent makeup industry. But the first step is enrolling in training classes that will help advance your career.
You can use several brow techniques to help give your clients dream brows without using makeup. Once you learn how to shape the brows and apply permanent pigment, you’ll be ready to help each client achieve their brow goals.
