Microblading & powder brows aftercare
Proper aftercare is the key to healing well and getting long-lasting, beautiful results. Follow these instructions carefully — they're crucial to the success of your new brows.
The first 7 days: golden rules
No water on your brows for a long period — a quick rinse 30 minutes after the procedure is okay.
No lotion, soap, or makeup touching the brow area for the first 7 days.
Do not pick, scratch, or peel the scabs — let them flake off naturally.
No long showers, soaking, or swimming (no direct water for more than 5 minutes).
Your healing timeline
Dark & defined
Right after, the area looks extremely dark, bold, and sharply defined — and gets darker over the next 2 days as scabs begin to form. This is completely normal.
Scabbing & flaking
30–50% of your pigment sits in the scabs. They flake off bit by bit over 7–14 days — some people scab in light flakes, others develop thicker scabs. Don't pick. If scabbing isn't over by day 14, continue aftercare until it is.
Foggy & muted
Once scabbing ends, the color looks foggy and muted because a fresh layer of skin has grown over the pigment to seal it in. Don't worry — this is part of the process.
True color appears
Your skin regenerates and the pigment becomes more vibrant. Complete healing takes at least 6 weeks — that's when the true color and orientation of your brows finally show.
How to care for your brows
- 30 minutes after treatment, rinse your brows with neutral (children's) soap or cold water and remove any lymph that appears, then apply a very thin layer of PhiShield aftercare cream.
- Repeat this 3–5 times during the day. If your treatment was late in the day, cover the cream with plastic foil overnight to protect the brows from drying out.
- For the next 7 days, maintain facial hygiene and apply the cream after washing your face or showering. PhiShield suits all skin types thanks to its natural oil-regulating components.
Some clients have minor swelling or thicker scabs — you may take an Advil or apply an icepack to reduce swelling and discomfort. For most people, going to work or being out in public is no problem as long as you follow your aftercare.
